I'm Wemmy, an animal photographer based in Hong Kong.

I record animals around us and share animal content in simple wordings, aiming to reconnect general public to the nature.

It is how it started…

Growing up in the vibrant city of Hong Kong, I was fascinated by the rich biodiversity surrounds us. Inspired by impactful documentaries, I developed a deep appreciation for animals — even though my city isn’t always the most animal-friendly place and many people here remain disconnected from nature. I believe it’s essential to bridge this gap and nurture a more sustainable relationship between humans and the natural world, since we rely on nature for our very existence.

In 2023, I launched Wemmentary as a personal journal to document the animals I encountered in my daily life. What started as a way to share photos with family and friends quickly grew into something more. As my Instagram filled with animal contents, I discovered a thriving community of like-minded people, each bringing their own unique knowledge and enthusiasm for wildlife/ animal photography. The more I learn, the more I want to share that sense of wonder with a wider audience.

Through my content, I aim to highlight the unique qualities of these incredible creatures and inspire others to explore and appreciate them. I believe that by observing, learning and understanding, we develop a deeper care for animals. My hope is that, one day, everyone will be aware of the animals around them and embrace a more sustainable lifestyle in harmony with nature.
